Lambing started just before spring 2026. Now retired from our day jobs, lambing has been much easier compared to the 20-plus years we managed while both working full-time off the farm. It’s hard to believe we handled up to 75 ewes back then—youth was definitely on our side.
After 25 years of raising sheep (plus a few more in earlier years), we’ve decided to transition into being “sheep keepers,” leaving breeding and lambing to others. Our horses are quite aged, as are our dogs, so we’re ready to slow down from the demanding work of the farm and our stock numbers gradually decline. With several years of low water during the critical growing season, our hay production has decreased, and we may even stop growing hay altogether. We plan to keep a few sheep, sell some fleeces, enjoy their company, and let the flock naturally dwindle down in numbers. We might even take some time to travel! Retirement sure has its perks.
With that in mind, we will be offering select registered ewes and lambs for sale starting in the summer of 2026 and beyond. There’s no rush—our goal is simply to find good homes where these genetics can enhance other breeding programs. Once these sales are complete, the website will be retired. It has been a true pleasure sharing our passion for raising sheep with others, and we hope our genetics have brought value to every flock they have joined.
