Established in 2002, Cooke Creek Sheep Company is a family-owned and operated sheep and hay ranch located near Ellensburg in the beautiful Kittitas Valley of Central Washington State.
We are focused on producing high quality breeding stock, grass-fed lamb and wool utilizing sustainable farming practices with an emphasis on humane treatment of our animals. We breed for healthy, productive, easy-keeping sheep with exceptional meat and wool quality.
Here on the farm you will find Texel, Coopworth, Border Leicester, Targhee and Debouillet sheep. We are breeding for exceptional fleece and carcass quality. Each of these breeds bring something unique to the flock. Read more about our breeding program on our flock page.
This summer we are having a series of wool processing classes. Some are taught by me and others we will have some outside experts on hand. Due to so many requests, we will be repeating the wool washing class! Date to be determined soon. Next up will be a pick, flick and carding class, date to be determined and posted here and on our Facebook page. Drop us an email if you’re interested. Class fees for the wool washing class is $10/person and for the carding class $20/person.
6/14/13–We separated lambs and ewes tonight and began the weaning process. It’s a very noisy night on the farm! Lambs will be leaving for their new homes through the week and some new additions will be joining us soon…like some new Debouillet ewe lambs and a Wensleydale, a Teeswater and an English Leicester Longwool, for handspinning and blending fun!
5/15/13–We have a few fleeces left!
5/26/13 – Are you looking for some nice purebred Texel lambs for brood stock? Contact our friends at Starshire Ranch. They have some for sale of our best bloodlines!
4/15/2013 – You can find our All Ewe Need Baag’s at Yarn Folk in Ellensburg. The sheep fabric is getting low and they are selling out quickly, so get yours before they sell out.
